Poker has now been running at the Rhodrons for at least the last 3 years every Thursday evening at 7.30 pm, open to members and non-members.
We have held 2 yearly tournaments in 2014 and 2015 which is memory of Lyn’s husband Frank who was a regular player with us, this is called the FRB poker tournament and the winners of this event were Colin Taylor in 2014 and Julian Humphries in 2015. This is an annual event and will keep running and is open to members as well as non-members and held about October / November
We have also joined in the National Redtooth poker organisation and now we are league based as well which gives the top 4 in the league to play in the regional finals held in London and the first prize is a trip to Vegas, in 2012 we had one of our own players win the tournament and go to Vegas, the player was Dragan Vakudic.
More recently the regionals were held on Sunday 28th Feb at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London where the Rhodrons was represented By Karl Thomas, Mick Manolis, Kirry Manolis and Jeffery New. Mick, Kirry and Jeff picked up the team trophy for the Rhodrons and more amazingly Jeffery New went on to win the whole competition and take first prize which is the trip to Vegas.
